The teacher that I work under had an awesome engaging fun and yummy lesson today.
Oreo sentences.
All the students got oreos and they had to describe them.
Then students are asked to say how oreos and sentences are alike?
Students really aren't able to tell you BUT
The teacher tells the students.
Capital Letter, Meat (Noun and Verb/Complete Thought), End Mark
Chocolate Cookie, Filling, Chocolate Filling
The students were able to eat the oreos afterwards.
If the future students will be given an oreo at random times that they are showing oreo sentences. This will encourage students to use oreo sentences all the time!!
